EN-YA was newly opened in 2006 where visitors can learn and enjoy more about Kyoto's traditional crafts. The floor was renovated and now it offers traditional scenery of old Kyoto. There are spaces for display, sale, demonstration and workshops which can be a communication space between visitors and craftsmen.

SOU : hands-on activities studio

You can try to make a traditional craft. Choose one of your favorite out of 10 kinds of options: cloisonné accessory, clay doll bell, spinning top, woodblock print, incense bag, gold powder drawing, Shichimi (7 kind Japanese spices) blending, folding fan painting, damascene accessory. Each experience takes 40-60 minutes. English instruction will be provided.
*You can take your craft work back home on the day (except for damascene accessory).

TAKUMI : handicraft demonstrations

Real traditional craftsmen demonstrate their skilful technique. You can ask questions and talk to them. Completed works are sold in the shop.

FUKU : English OS Internet café

After enjoying shopping, take a rest in our café. Light meals, desserts, drinks and alcohol menus (Kyoto local sake, etc.) are available. There is a Internet corner (from ¥400/30 min.; after first 30 min., ¥200/30 min.) that people can use English OS.
